Dan & Phil Part 47: Do it with Dan!

It was so quick, I don't understand why she split it into two parts! Nice couple of mentions of Free! from Phil which I enjoyed but still no YOI. I guess we'll get his collab with her later this evening sometime.

There's a good chance YOI did get brought up but she edited out, since the videos combined to barely more than ten minutes long and she claimed they filmed for thirty.

my only idea on why she split it up was so that she'd have two different videos with phil which would have the potential to bring more people to her channel. who knows though.

i didn't think the video was anything special. i did like phil saying he'd like to look like haru though.

lol, this may sound cynical but im 100% certain it was just for adsense - people will want to watch both vids with phil in, and are unlikely to rewatch a video about an anime q+a, so in having the two seperate vids she can gain more adsense.

also, did she mention a part 2 before or do y'all think she decided to make another vid out of the stuff she initally didn't feel was good enough to be included?

The last Dan video not having so much views might also be due to the title not being as much appealing to non-subscribed, casual viewers? I mean, we (=IDB) were all excited for it, because we had seen the tweet and wanted to know if our speculations had been right. But the title doesn't give of that "relatable"-vibe, that a lot of Dan's videos have. If you compare it to "I nearly blinded myself", the latter conveys something like "Look, I'm so clumsy", which is relatable to a lot of people (including me), whereas "My Bahamas travel disaster" just says...idk..."I have enough money to travel to the Bahamas"? (Not trying to be rude, just trying to look at the title from an outstanding perspective). I'm probably writing bs, but whatever

She was playfully "fangirling" about the straight OTPs and just laughed and said nothing about a gay OTP Phil brought up. If she's going to pander to anime fans, she should ago all in with what's popular right now!

Maybe the 30 minutes include the filming for the AmazingPhil video? I find it strange to think that she would have cut down so much video. Or maybe they spent a lot of time chatting or fixing the camera, I don't know.

I thought the video was a bit disappointing, it added almost nothing to Part 1, the questions were even similar. 4 minutes was so short, I'd rather it had all been a single video.

I hope Phil uploads today, I'm excited to see what the AmazingPhil video will be.

I understand that people don't want to give views to someone they disagree with, but linking to content that can't be considered fair use is against the terms of service for the forum's host, and we could get into trouble for it.

Well, that video was rather boring, maybe because I didn't really know what they were talking about. The bit with Free! is interesting on Phil's part, but that's about it.

Has Dan's tumblr always been this meme-y and weird? I remember him saying something about how his queue has to be aesthetically pleasing or something, but what I've seen today is...not

Did anyone else notice the noise at 1:24? I feel it could be laughter, but it didn't come from Phil or her... Could it be Dan was in the room, just like she hinted? Contradictory though, cause Phil said he did a collab while Dan went to the Bahama's (unless he did another collab? )

also, I watched the second part too and I again ogled over how nice Phil looked in it and to hear him talk to someone else and feel so real while doing so. I was also thinking if maybe part of why he feels different is that he sits on the left?? Usually in all collabs he sits on the right, so maybe we're just not used to seeing this (literal physical) side of him and it overwhelms us with his beauty. who knows

Phil was wearing a different shirt the day of the Bahamas incident if you want to get technical.

i just don't understand why he'd say he filmed a collab while dan was on the bahamas without any prompt if that wasn't the case. on the other hand shawna's tone seems to be somewhat teasing without being definite (just because you don't see him doesn't mean he's not there, or is he?), and i think it's possible that she's poking fun at the fact that people see phil and assume dan must be in earshot. plus, if phil filmed another collab, i'd have expected him to tease about it by now -- except if he doesn't want to take our attention off the nanalew one. and then there's the noise, too, apparently. hm. tl;dr everything is possible and this post hasn't helped at all.

re: there being a part two i'm really confused. i'm fairly sure in the first video they only talked about part 2 as in the video that's going on phil's channel. why didn't they announce this video as well, or why didn't phil mention it in his ls? strange...

maybe the collab with her for phil's channel was filmed on the day dan went to the bahamas? there's no reason they had to be filmed on the same day, and phil knew he'd have some time the day dan went so maybe it just worked best in their schedules to not film them both at the same time. i guess we'll find out!

or maybe it is a collab with someone different. i don't think we knew about the nanalew one until she posted it, if i remember correctly. so i guess it's possible there was another collab from that day coming that we don't know about just yet.

It also crossed my mind that the part 2 was meant to go on Phil's channel but was posted to hers instead? I guess we'll see if he posts anything. I also noticed Phil hasn't retweeted the video...

so dan defo wasn't there and shawna was just messing with ppl considering the lack of dan interruption at the best friend question (is it just me that finds it hilarious that even when he's literally in the Bahamas Dan still somehow manages to slip his way into Phil's vid).

Phil did retain the more happy, relaxed vibe - holidays are good for him.

Video was mehhh, was low-key expecting more but idk what else they'd do whilst away in Florida, it was more entertaning than just answering the questions tho.

Probs won't rewatch tbh, I adore happy Phil but my view of Shawna has just ruined it for me, which is ashame.

I didn't really like that video at all. I thought it was pretty lame that they did a single quiz. Phil looks cute but I got weird vibes from Shawna. I didn't watch her video and I don't intend to.

Also did anyone else get a vibe that they were tipsy/drunk? Some of the things they were laughing so hard at and I'm just like... ?? That's not funny at all?

well. i'm just gonna say that i appreciated phil in this again.

i had a hard time not getting too annoyed by shawna, probably partly because of what's been discussed here. i don't feel like discussing this any further tbh, she's not gonna be my favorite human phil has ever collabed with, but he was nice and pretty in the videos and i appreciate that.
i laughed at this:
5:44 - "you care for everyone..." "what's the dot dot dot for? it's like, you care for everyone...?"

i also loved when phil described dan and didn't choose "loser, but loves you". come on phil. we all know you wanted to.

This was a lot of fun, much more Phil vibe with him being more bouncy, so snappy in pacing and of course his edits of funky text and other effects. Hilarious result, I'm very amused.

I also laughed when it got revealed which character he was.

I'm still confused on whether Dan was there or not, but I don't actually care so

on a different note i kind of loved how he asked her 'do you have a friend in mind' whereas for him it's just obviously dan, to him and her and everyone watching

okay i definitely heard dan (or at least someone) snort at 1:18 and at 6:45...or didn't i?
also "we made another video on shawna's channel" wtf is with the 2nd one. is this a conspiracy worth contemplating.

i wasn't exactly exited to see it was just them taking a quiz, but phil saved this video, he was in a great mood that made the video easy and uplifting to follow.
it's a shame i'll never rewatch this ('fuck this shit i'm out' softly playing in the distance)

edit: just remembered someone here saying their post about shawna's view on marriage equality got moderated and how it stood out to me that no one seemed to talk about it in the yt comments when i scrolled through them, as i would have expected at least some mentions. not ruling out it was chance because i have no idea how yt even sorts the comments (yesterday's top comments are dead and gone today, basically, at least that's how it seems, i figured yt was mixing them up in some way or another). but i'm curious to see if it'll be any different for this video.
