Yeah I can admit Dan comparing having sex with Phil with his grandma (seriously I wouldn't even say that about my CHILDHOOD best friend) and getting strippers in Vegas was uncomfortable to say the least, but people forget that it is so easy to say those things and manipulate what your audience sees.

Also I already posted my first impression about Deppy being a couple or not, but I just want to add that when I first saw all the PINOFs I was surprised they were that close because I thought they were just casual roommates. After watching them I assumed they grew up together and we're childhood friends because their relationship reminded me of my best friend and i. Once I found out their first irl meeting was the day of PINOF and Phil was 4/5 years older than Dan I was really confused and a little suspicious deep down I think lol

I've been avoiding that particular stuff from 2012 because it seems awkward and sad, but wow Dan compared having sex with Phil to having sex with his grandma? That seems sooo extreme. Unnecessarily extreme when something a lot less would do if he just needed to address the situation like "I know there are quite of few you who think we are or were in a romantic relationship. Actually, Phil and I are just really close friends and roommates." That's literally all it takes. Will speculation stop? Some of it, not all, but being dramatic about it along Shakespearean lines (the lady doth protest too much) is only going to make it worse than it was before. I mean Dan was young at this time so his decision to speak like this could have just come from immaturity or it could have also come from a desperation to conceal something he'd wanted to remain private/secret. I'm probably gonna have to just deal with it and watch some 2012/13 stuff.

Agree with everything about 2012. I feel like people over exaggerate it a bit. Plus, I don't think Dan and Phil's relationship was weakened or strained (like many people + fanfic seem to believe), it's just that their relationship in front of their audience, and how they responded to questions regarding their relationship was tense. Dan was annoyed with his audience, not Phil (as far as I'm aware). Plus, they moved to London together in 2012 - that's a pretty big step to take if they weren't friendly with one another at the time imo.

I've only been watching for half a year, but I feel like the the 2012/2013 content itself isn't bad, it's Dan's YouNows from that time that I can't stand. Even if there isn't an outright lie in every one of them, he just seems like a cocky straight guy in them (I know stereotypes about sexualities blah blah blah, but it's painful for me to see).

I know I've mentioned this (probably more than once, sorry), but I came in at the beginning of the post-baking universe and introduced by shippers from other fandoms. Still, from watching the baking videos and PINOF I at first assumed they were together, until seeing the gay denials. I was confused and went back and forth in my perception of their relationship while watching both new and old videos.

Around January/February I came to the conclusion that they are partners (creative, business and life) but it really didn't matter if they were romantic and we might never know, but I low key shipped them and decided to check out some fanfic... which were full of references... one to Voldy. So I did some research, found the timelines and went through a full range of emotions including irrational and unfair anger, until I accepted that they were in a closeted relationship and joined here. It's been a wild six/seven months.

I came across a similar conversation (let's be honest this probably comes up a lot) while searching for info on their Shiba Inu plushies. It's about half way down the page, started by secretagentohan http://indepthbants.com/topic541-300.html talking about bias, , outside perceptions and most interesting to me, our tendency to be more phanognostic due to over analyzing, doubt and not wanting to get our hopes up.

So speaking of shibes, I recently watched part of an old liveshow of Phil's from November 2015. Right after they had filmed PINOF 7 ("peen-off"). This is when he first showed off the two Shiba Inu plushies they were given by a fan at a meet-up. I was low-key aware of their existence though I didn't know that the black one was given to Dan and the golden one to Phil. So when I was on Tumblr last night and saw a screen shot from "We're Moving Out" with the dark shibe on Phil's dresser, I gasped. Now, I don't want you all thinking that I think this "proves something". But I was curious about when they changed custody (let's be honest any dogs are going to be shared custody with these two). So I umm did too much research this morning, that I am going to put under a cut, as I just got notified that the new gaming video is up.

Dan might haves preferred the more traditional golden Shibe and Phil either acquiesced to Dan, agreed because of his special fondness for the wonky ear cute Dan!Shibe and/or because Phil identifies more with the black hair shibe. I had a hard time locating the golden shibe after the dark one took up residence in Phil's video background. I think most of Dan's plushies were on the top of his wardrobe which we rarely see. The real question is, where are they residing now in the new apartment?

Now off to watch some Dan and Phil action

phil's trash talk cracked me up once again. "go see your mother"? "taste my ink"?? what is he always on about with these. but i appreciate him being unapologetic about it. the "formless blob" mention in the beginning made me smile, dan teasing phil about the arm straps then using them himself a minute later made me roll my eyes, but fondly. "if you're playing with your grandma" made me wonder whether that's a thing they do because if yes, that's so cool. the game itself seems fun, i'd play if i had a switch or any intention to get one. i thought it was interesting to see them go through the tutorial and choose the different "hands", too, i actually feel like i just saw an informative review about the game. all in all i liked it and thought it was funny! #springsforarms

i actually didn't notice that they took so long for choosing, but then again, i'd also watch an hour-long episode of them customizing their characters on an rpg. (which just made me think of their d&d characters and damn, i want those updates on the storyline too, i honestly expect hilarious things to happen with them choosing stuff like fear of beaks. something specific like will come back to bite them in the ass in my experience. )

I really liked this video, and it made me happy! The actual gameplay was enjoyable for once, which was refreshing, and I could imagine playing this game myself if I ever were to get myself a Nintendo Switch.

Very cute video. Chaotic intros are always fun. I love when they are learning a new game together.

I know it's just perspective, with Phil being sat a bit closer to the camera, with his chair perhaps a bit higher and/or sitting up straighter, but I love that Dan looks smaller than Phil in this video.

Going to re-watch with the husband tonight and actually try to pay attention to the game play. Maybe.

they did spend a v long time on character selection, which had me ehhh in a game like this - but the gameplay was quite cool.

autumnhearth: you need to tell us your husbands reaction when you re-watch! i always find outsider perspectives so interesting, and your anecdotes are always hilarious~ (also loved your analysis, sweet that they switched aww).

not my fave gaming vid, but p sweet. i'll never stop saying that i'd love for them to play a series again. with their frequent uploading schedule, i think playing an RPG akin to undertale (pixel RPG's are usually my faves, they have great plots and music) would be managable and incredible. i personally favour the horror ones (The Crooked Man, Paranoiac, The Witches House, Mad Father, Ib - which is more freaky than scary - and Misao are amongst my faves), but there are some sweeter ones (To the Moon comes to mind) which I think they could play if they want some more heart-breaking cute stuff.

Quite liked that vid, there seemed to be a lot of jump cuts in it though which always makes me wonder what they've cut out, especially now in the post baking universe.

It was a cute video for sure, but tbh not that much rewatch value. I personally would like for them to do more series of "proper" games (*cough* lifeisstrange *cough*), but as they keep stressing, they want the gaming channel to also appeal to viewers who are not into games per se, so I am not sure if that'll happen :/ I hope the Horse Prince wasn't them testing out a series in terms of viewing numbers/ad rev, cause it was far too controversial to be a good representation of other possible series.

Anyone else with me? Or do you prefer the Sims and random one-time games?

That was a pretty fun video and a nice introduction to the game for anyone who might consider buying it.
Call me a cynic but I think they re-filmed or something so Phil would win the final round. At 10:32 Dan was at about 60% life, then they zoomed to a closeup of him whining about how good Phil's laser attack thingy was and literally 5 seconds later when they zoomed back out Dan's life was down to 2%.
Idk, but it looks fake to me.

This video didn't get me feeling any particular type of way tbh, it was just okay to me? I enjoyed it but it's not something I'd watch again. Dunno if it was them, the game, or me not being into the DvsP series much anymore.

But I do finally know what bothers me about DvsP these days. It's the seeming lack of end goal. Like when does it end? Or start over into another round I guess is more accurate. After a certain amount of games? If so, how many? Or time? But it's been more than 2 years now so.. When the board is truly full on one side? That ain't a fair way of measurement considering Dan has spaces the size of the Pacific between some of his and some of the different sizes of the badges. And what does the overall winner get (aside of getting to top in bed that night?) in the end? Like what's at stake here? And if it doesn't matter and there's no overall winner thing.. WHY HAVE A LEADER BOARD?? I have questions and the more time passes the more annoyed I get at DvsP and how it's seemingly endless and the more it looks lik they didn't actually think this through or plan it so now they're just going with the flow.

Please tell me I missed something in a liveshow or something where they cleared this up and told us the plan cause I'm lowkey desperate to know.
