I want to be sensible and look at this with my Phan goggles definitely off, but ... *squints* ... the writing kind of does look like Dan Lester. What. Also, catching up on this whole thread has had me in stitches.

Someone earlier brought up how Dan writes his 't's really short, not jutting above the imaginary middle line. By that logic, Dan's scrawl does not look like Lester to me, because the 't' should not be a tall letter. But I'm having trouble fathoming it as Dan Howell, unless the Howell part is cramped and has a weird squiggle after it. Idk...

I was just about to make my point... but then I realized that I was looking at the wrong picture. (the one where you tried to fit Dan's complete name onto the screenshot) Well done @me. It's possible he drops some letters when he signs his name and just draws a line of some squiggles at the end. My name is 16 letters long, but in my signature only 6 of them are probably recognizable as the original letters. Usually l's and such do stay when that happens in most people's signatures, but I could possibly see it when he has three loopy characters in a row at the end.

The fact that any of you can get anything out of those scribbles in the first place is kind of amazing tbh.

This is true but there are only samples of Dan's printed handwriting. His cursive might look different. Anyone know if Tabinof or anything else has examples of Dan writing in cursive?

If they aren't letters then the squiggles are written as long as his last name and at about the same height. There's not much space between the capital letter of the last name and the last tall letter for the 'owe' in 'Howell'. The last tall letter also looks like one letter and not the 'll' of 'Howell'. In his printed handwriting his 'l's are pretty tall.

aside it's hard to see anything other than 'Dan Lester'. 'Dan Howlter' at a stretch but the first letter of the last name looks suspiciously like an 'L'. 'Dan Lesthow' maybe.

Exactly. A quick google search would tell you that it's Howell. Did they just assume they were married/related? How do you even make that mistake?

I just stared at it for 5 minutes, and I'm in. It looks so much like Lester. If that's the case though, I'm surprised it'd even show up multiple times in their videos. Would they be that entangled in each other's lives that they couldn't catch possible slip-ups imagine all the things they did hide then.

I mean, just looking at how huge the 'l' in Daniel would be compared to the 'll' in Howell... And his 'l' is rather tall, as previously discussed, which is why Howell just doesn't work for me no matter how we spin it. I'd sooner see it as 'Dan Fucker', tbh.
