Firstly, you two are adorable.

Secondly, wtf was that ls?! He was so seemingly manic that I had to pause to take little breaks so he didn't overwhelm my sensory processing. I loved it!!!

wait if dan's succulents are "upstairs" and the moon room is a "dank cave" without windows, does that mean that the apartment is on three levels?

I think they're on the same level - he just said he keeps the curtains closed all the time so there must be windows!

alright, i didn't catch that, thanks! but nevertheless i thought the consens was that the moon room is a level above phil's room, so if the succulents are upstairs with respect to the moon room, there still have to be at least three levels? or we have to reevaluate and the moon room and phil's room are on the same level after all.

i am with you, i think there's an area with the "old" lounge and phil's room and the gaming room and dan's filming area (since they said they don't carry the camera upstairs). then there's a level above that that probably has the moon room. then probably even more above that there's the computer/editing area where dan usually does liveshows and that has the succulents, and the area where phil has done his liveshows recently (since dan's typing on his loud keyboard in the background, those must be the same room) and also the round fancy lounge we've seen a few times (since that also holds those drums that are in the background of dan's liveshows as well).

they DID say that there's a billion stairs and a complicated layout, so that's probably not too unreasonable.

That was a lovely liveshow, only decent lighting could have improved it tbh. He was cute as hell, turns out he really was cringing at his old photos when really we all thought he looked cute af then too. I liked the emo/scene history talk as I didn't know much about the bands not really being emo after all, or much of the rest of it either. Emo came in after my teenage years, I first heard of it in the St Trinians movie. He was pretty reflective through all of that too.

Surprised to see so much of his bedroom, I love that he has a literal moon mirror, not just a silver and white theme. Seems the ornate mirror and curved wall he leaned against in his selfie is inside the room. It all looks plainer and messier than I'd imagined, though that might also be the lighting. The bedside table with only the lamp-teddy sitting on to looks quite sparse. Other knickknacks are brightening up his filming area, of course.

I was so pleased he saw the request for Golf with Friends and that they're happy to just play so many games they're asked for. It's a shame they keep not playing the kinds of games they play themselves especially because they've already completed them. If they don't want to is one thing, but they could hold off or just start a new save, though I guess it's tedious to do it all again in that case. Still, remember why you made the channel, guys

So they have had noise complaints. Honestly, Phil, stop bending the truth, it snaps when Dan tells us what actually happened.

He was so funny impersonating people moaning when he was showing off the new merch. Good to hear even that little insight that they keep making different things in the hopes of appealing to more people.

fantastic live show, love it when dan wants to talk about something he finds interesting, plus am always here for any kind of music discussion. he is wrong about MySpace though, yeah it was for picture comments but hello, MySpace bulletins where you'd literally just do quiz after quiz to try and sound cool, we all did it #noshame.

Definitely sign me up for live gaming streams, as someone who is mostly interested in the gaming channel this gets me really excited. Can't wait for that.

Also, you guys wanna speculate about the shared room but let's be real, no way does Dan have that massive mansion of a room and Phil has a cupboard. They're doing the thing, where they ease us in gently, giving away little signs so when/if they ever reveal they share a room we'll all be like "yeah yeah old news whatever". I'd be more interested to talk about the neighbours already being pissed off with them. So far we have:
Phil being told off for feeding the pigeons
Dan doing "exercise" and the neighbours getting pissed off. If they're sound proofing one wall as that's where the flats are adjacent then wow; that's the closest they sit to the camera and Dans screaming just really project through. Can you imagine the neighbours having to listen to his streams of profanities at the weekend! Dan and Phil appearing on Neighbours From Hell on a tv screen shortly!

okay so I might be misremembering this, but when he was showing everyone photos on his phone, it looked like you could see a window (with trees and dark sky outside) reflected on the screen at one point, no? Which I find interesting, since he made that long speech about how he never opens the curtains and can't have house plants in his room so he doesn't feel like showing it. He also avoided turning completely around when he was trying to find better lighting, which I presume is because that's an angle of his room he'd prefer not to show.

Regardless, this live show was really enjoyable!

Right. Lets explore this with my greatest hits of #PhanWedding and Forever Home™ plus Dan giving 0 fucks and other possible explanations.

Dan giving 0 fucks. I don't see it. Dan is still very much a mental person, he doesn't just do. He reminds me of Gerard Way, everything is thought out (Even his most questionable Daily Booths were to get Phil's attention). I don't think he's stopped caring, I'm more inclined to believe that he is testing things out. So Dan is giving loads of fucks, he's just seeing what he can get away with. Which leads me into the next theory.

Forever Home™. I think this is most likely. The moon room is GORGEOUS but bare. It doesn't seem homely? And they are two people who like to nest. They are in this place temporarily and seeing what we pick up on. This week we have seen two new parts of their home. They're pushing it, and I think they're pushing it because they're preparing to move again.

#PhanWedding - the centipede thing has pushed me into this a little. The centipede is not on Phil's floor, its on Dans floor. Phil said it was on his room - and because we hadn't seen the floors we had no reason to doubt them. I think Dan wanted to show us this as a hint.

Other explanations - I do not for a second buy the Phil on the PC explanation. Not that I don't think he's editing but they edit on Final Cut which is Mac only. Also Phil can take a break from editing. They're self employed but their YouNows which are part of their job are literally the only part of their week which is scheduled. In this scenario, Dan does take precedence over Phil. Dan had to WANT to do it from that room. You can also tell he's on his laptop because he plugged it in to charge, meaning he could've filmed it in the bath if he'd wanted to. There's a reason it was from the moon room.

Dan just wanted to show off his room? No because he complained about it. He wasn't in here because he was proud of it.

Most tinfoil - their apartment isn't confusing at all. Living rooms are upstairs and bedrooms are downstairs, possibly with a roof terrace. They're telling us it's confusing to mess with us and see what we believe. Dan and Phil share a room and leave Phil's shoebox and the gaming room alone unless they're filming. The separation is between work and not-work. Part of this is controlling their audience so they're trying to make us feel like their place is super confusing when it just isn't. The speculation on their apartment keeps the phadom busy in a very convenient way and allows them privacy. Until we get a tour, I'm now believing that their apartment isn't actually confusing.

Basically - I'm all for this apartment being temporary and a test, and the choice to film from the moon room being a choice to REALLY test us. Livestream from here was no accident, and unless the next video contains something obviously that you can't run on Mac, Dan lied.

I was also about the shoes. Also that's a lot of shoes for one person. Then again I'm not a millionaire.

I wonder if it's possible he moved the mirror from the hallway to his bedroom because they're moving!!! or he did take that selfie from his bedroom and it's just round shaped like the rest of his apartment. Or he DID move it from the hallway to his room so that's why didn't show the other end of the room (among other reasons such as privacy etc etc).

I'd be really curious to know his actual demographics bcuz I think Dan should stop worrying about appealing to EVERYONE & just do what he wants, not what he thinks his audience wants. I like the serious discussions, adult topics & "crude" jokes. He wants to be taken seriously since his rebrand so I think it's ok to step away from making his content "friendly" for younger people & concentrate on things that actually matter to him.

I liked his live stream bcuz it definitely felt more personal than some of his recent ones. I like to feel like I'm there having a conversation with him & not sitting back watching him have a conversation with other people. I wanna know his fears, his goals, what truly makes him happy, what motivates him, his political thoughts, books that have had an impact on his life, in general, a more adult conversation.

I'm probably older than most people here & I'm ok with being the older (not creepy) fan but with that being said, I feel like I'm right along with you guys in thoughts, theories & questions.

specifically, the apartment bit is so interesting. i mean i think you could be absolutely right, they said from the very beginning that it was confusing so it's not unlikely at all that this lead to everyone jumping to more complicated conclusions than we might have without these statements. if that's true and it was intentional i'm honestly so impressed. like that's top notch deception, hats off, and i'm completely here for this amount of tin foil atm.

sparkle, i totally agree with what you said about dan chose to do the liveshow from the bedroom, and he definitely chose to show us a fair proportion of it. i assumed from his previous statements about the room that we would never see it. they have a way of letting us see what we need to, so we can build it up, and kind of prepare us so that when something big happens (to which i think it'll be them announcing they've built their own house) we will just be like "oh yeah whatever, old news" which is exactly what happened when they said they were moving before.

I don't wanna say anything but Phil had a tv in his bedroom in the old apartment and i really doubt that something with that size fits in his new shoe box, i mean, bedroom.

But I agree that the ls location was most definitely a purposive move (ha), they've been doing some advance filming of vids and Dan said he's most likely busy next week which means we're not seeing their place (besides a bare wall behind Phil maybe) for two weeks
