Nope, I want to see Tabitha run off with the mailman and Dil can finally hit up Preston and they can become mad scientists together. I don't want anyone to have kids because teaching them to walk/talk/potty is the most tedious shit ever, don't even get me started on their dumb homework. If Dil does end up with a kid I hope social services takes it away . If anything they should get a pet expansion (does that exist in S4 yet) and adopt a dog to live out their pet goals vicariously through Dil.bedhead91 wrote:Changed my signature in honor of the latest Dil video.Thought it was funny, though I think they are truly milking the series at this point. C'mon guys, you know that everyone just wants to see Dil and Tabitha get married and have a kid.
I don't find it particularly offensive in the context he used the word. It's like how people call other people bitch affectionately/in a non-serious way. He wasn't actually slut shaming but I guess words like 'hoe' and 'bitch' can still sound offensive no matter the context?spaceguitar wrote:Does it bother anyone else when Dan calls Tabitha a hoe? (around 10:10). He did it last Sims episode also, and I just find it rather gross. Whatever, he can just be problematic sometimes (b4 anyone gets on my case about being sjw, its more that it just bothers me. Hoe is a bit of a slur, and I just don't like to see people, or animated people, referred to in that disrespectful way)
Yeah, I suppose I'm just not used to the word, so in any context I find it jarring.blueapple_x wrote:I don't find it particularly offensive in the context he used the word. That's exactly what I thought. Now Dan can't even tell the difference between themspaceguitar wrote:Also, Wasn't Phil the one who banged his funny bone?
i guess he thought 'loud' was only referring to that one scream at the start, where he was imitating banging his arm?spaceguitar wrote:

I'm in the middle of writing a post on the episode and this is one of the comments I made in it. Instead I'll just comment here:spaceguitar wrote:Does it bother anyone else when Dan calls Tabitha a hoe? (around 10:10). He did it last Sims episode also, and I just find it rather gross. Yeah, it irks me a bit, and I can't put my finger on why, especially since I use the word "bitch," both when I'm mad at someone (really only one someone in my life, as I do recognize its implications) and both as a term of endearment (again, though, for really only one person in my life). It makes me kind of "ehhhh" and so I wasn't going to bring it up but I will say I agree with you.spaceguitar wrote: Does it bother anyone else when Dan calls Tabitha a hoe? (around 10:10). I'll admit it caught me off guard when Dan called Tabitha a hoe, and it seemed random when he did it. But in the context he did it I personally didn't find it offensive. That's just my opinion obvs.oqua wrote:I'm in the middle of writing a post on the episode and this is one of the comments I made in it. Yes, it bothers me quite a bit. Dan's come a long way in the past seven years (at least he no longer makes rape jokes or claims to be black), but he still has a ways to go. The "hoe" comment stuck out to me last episode and it stuck out to me this episode, and it rubbed me the wrong way both times.
Honestly I don't think context matters much. Plus, if I'm not mistaken doesn't he call her a "stupid hoe"? That makes it almost worse, imo.
I would say offended, for me, is too strong of a term. I'm just caught off-guard, a bit ":/", and wondering if he uses the word "hoe" as a descriptor for other women. Like, tabitha is not real, so I do feel silly even thinking about it, but I can't decide if its out of affection for her or precisely because she is a computer game character that he feels like it is funny to say it.blueapple_x wrote: Question for those who were offended by the 'hoe' comment: out of curiosity, does it also bother you when he says the word bitch? In both episodes, Dan says "stinky hoe". I'm not sure it that makes it any betteroqua wrote:I'm in the middle of writing a post on the episode and this is one of the comments I made in it. Oh, i never even notice whenever he use that word. I'm not from an english speaking country so i'm not really aware of this. I mean, i know it used to be a slur, but i thought people use it like the word 'bitch' now. It comes up normally on tumblr so often too, so i never thought of anything. Not to mention because of the 'hoe don't do it' meme. Thanks for educating me guys.spaceguitar wrote:Does it bother anyone else when Dan calls Tabitha a hoe? (around 10:10). you pin-pointed exactly how i felt about it, but i couldn't find the words. i'm not offended or in any way angry that he used it here, because tabitha isn't real. that would just be dumb. but it does make me wonder what other situations he uses that word in, as clearly it comes naturally to him. it was a bit off-putting, but meh. say watchu want to ya sims, dan~greatnessflicker wrote:I would say offended, for me, is too strong of a term.
