Slime videos are supposed to be oddly satisfying type of videos, not gross. I agree with whoever said it would be a video more suited for his second channel, like the kinetic sand one.
But maybe he'll put an original spin on it.

I noticed that too. Of their last 6 videos only 1 has reached a million views. I'm sure some will reach it, and obviously 900k is not a low number of views in any sense, but it is lower than when they were getting 1.5-2 million views a game and 3 mil+ on the crazy popular ones. I don't if this means anything, or if July and August are just low viewership months :Shrug:

Yay! I could use a video. I don't think it will be gross. At the very least you know what is going into the slime, versus a strangers hair and general stickiness so that should help.

in his liveshow he said that he's making his own slime from scratch, so i'm guessing that it'll be more of a 'making slime' video, rather than a 'playing with slime' vid yknow?

Wow. Phil pushing the drugs. That video made me very uncomfortable (the words he uses for sound effects, just like blooping), but I also loved it. Poor guinea pig. I felt bad for Rossana P.'s measuring cups and his bedding and his very cool bottoms. Should have done it in the kitchen Philly. But mostly I just want a long side channel video of him playing the slime in the dark.

this has been discussed quite a few times already this year and if i recall correctly it was alittledizzy who pointed out that it's important to look at the overall numbers for the channel and not for individual videos. since they upload a lot more frequently ever since gamingmas, videos tend to get fewer "instant rewatches" from people passing time until new content arrives. at least the last time the topic came up, the overall figures hadn't shown a dramatic change.

I loved that video. Phil was so funny with his commentary. It made me quite a couple of times.
Will certainly rewatch it.

Only downside was that he filmed it in his bedroom instead of the kitchen.

That was such an enjoyable video! can definitely see myself rewatching it.
I was worried the glow-in-the-dark powder might have reacted weirdly with the other ingredients and mess up the recipe, so I was pleasantly surprised that it turned out so well!
Was it just me, or did he seem less persona-y in this? I mean he went full steam ahead with the cocaine jokes and even his voice came across as more natural to me.

(Also, idk how many pages back but someone said they wanted Phil to change his YouTube icon. So when he said to subscribe by clicking his "surprised 2008 face" I found it amusingly self aware)

yo that was such a good video? tbh its probably my favorite AP video now so far. he seemed so off the walls and energetic and made so many funny comments. he seemed less.persona-y to me. the drug comment made me laugh so much omg. also when phil said something about his 2008 lookin youtube pic i was like phil you been reading idb?

loved the slime video ! quite a few bits made me laugh out loud at first i thought it was a bit weird/not as satisfying to watch him make the slime in the traditional AP setting (though the camera angle was better) but the quiet, deep, natural Phil voice with his hands on the table at the end made up for it idk why but i laughed so hard when he punched the slime

maybe im just being overdramatic, but i found it interesting to hear him say "what the hell" when he dumped all the glitter in the bowl, feels like the most ""explicit"" thing ever said on AP unless he's said it before and i just missed it haha

OH also as i think a few more were saying i was shocked to hear him acknowledge the outdatedness of his profile pic maybe he's heard the discourse lmao

This is probably going to get lost in slime video discussion but I was bored and curious about people suggesting the gaming channel has lost views so I've typed some stuff up. Hopefully someone will find it interesting?

In the last 6 months there have been 41 gaming videos. (I'm counting the first one as my horse prince #2 which was uploaded March 1)

6 have not broken 1 millions views but 4 of those are just their 4 most recent videos.

Last year between August 1st and September 3rd they uploaded 5 videos with one not breaking 1 million (the monster legends spon). This year in roughly the same amount of time they've uploaded 8 videos with 5 not breaking 1 million.

Obviously many of their videos will continue to gain views and soon break 1 million so I don't think you can say they're overall losing attention. I almost wonder with them uploading more videos that are longer or part of a series (dream daddy, sims, golf) it's just harder for the audience to keep up and watch or rewatch all of their uploads.

Also according to Social Blade their monthly views are not at the highest (which was December 2016 and February/March 2017) but they still have overall growth with about 15M total views in July. They're also experiencing less subscriber growth but that makes sense as their main base followed early on and they haven't been playing tons of trendy stuff that will pick up new viewers.


Tldr; as other have pointed out nothing to worry about but they're positing much more frequently than last year

uh i enjoyed this video, here are some thoughts i had while watching:
- did he...just sass us with the "average sized cereal bowl"...what a pleasing outcome of the vase discourse
- not really sure i wanted to know about phil peeling glue off his body bit but his stifled laughter while saying it made up for it, kind of
- i too am sad for the cup measurement thing to be used in that way
- the "weird stains", cocaine and...unicorn jizz (?) jokes. are they the first step towards that "less pg amazingphil" everyone's been talking about. is it really happening. guys
- phil's voice is really pleasant to listen to
- now that i think about it his voice did sound more like in his liveshows, right?
- why tf did he film this on his bed omg

Oh my god I loved that video. One of my favorite AP videos of all time. He seemed so energetic, but it wasn't like his typical persona energetic. It was like a genuine energetic. This video seemed really different from a lot of his other videos in the best way possible. You can tell that he's not really worrying about maintaining his ~uwu kid friendly~ persona much anymore and I love it. Definitely adding it to the list of vids I watch when I need to cheer myself up!

Well I guess I know now I don't particularly care about asmr/slime videos this video was enjoyable, but I really, really wouldn't care about slime videos if it was someone else (except maybe dan obvs).

I agree he seemed less persona-y in this. The cocaine jokes were great I thought he actually came across much more as an actual adult and less as a grown child, if you know what I mean? It looks so insulting writing it like that but I don't know how else to put it. But I've been getting this vibe from him more recently and I really appreciate it tbh.

But also: why the fuck would you do this in your bedroom and not in a kitchen or at least at a proper table. And why ruin really good measuring cups. just in general: phil, why.
