This post made me cackle in the middle of the night! I love how much weight people are giving this game as Phan proof after the recent discussion of what it would take to convince antis Phan is real. The prominent placement with the big heart on the front sure says a lot to me about the possibility of Sparkle being right about them dropping hints about confirming their commitment. I mean, it lessened the game's impact a bit for me when people figured out it may have just been sent to them from the company, as opposed to them buying it or receiving it from friends or family, but still that placement and frequent shots of it!

I think this may be my fave dan ls to date! He looked so good. He talked about cutting his own hair which to me says he's still breaking out of gender roles. Wonder why he did it tho? Fabrice not available? I mean, Dan seems like the kind of guy to enjoy being pampered by getting his hair washed and done, but I know he doesn't like the social interaction. Very interesting new facet of his life imo. Wonder if he'll keep doing it. No complaints; I think his hair looks the best it ever has. Now put on some earrings my dude!

Loved the authenticity and casual, comfortable, happy vibe. Love that they're headed off on a little couples get away. Loved that he wonders what we think happens on the daily in the deppy household. If he really wants to know there's a wide array of phan fics that would let him right in on a lot of our domestic phantasies.

Loved that he twice said he loved us/a particular person in the chat. That usually only happens when he's tipsy. Maybe there's a GBB drinking game? If he keeps giving us this content I don't mind if the live shows are shorter.

Would love if he did a vid on mental health! Can't wait for hopefully good stories from uni (hope it's not another case of overhype).

Also living for the kitchen shots. Can't wait for a baking vid (now featuring proper measuring utensils!) autumnhearth I remember Phil talking in an old liveshow that the British washing machines are usually in the kitchen. I love that you pointed out the drying rack and even guessed what is on it! I really love that they have and use one. I hope a fic will feature some laundry bants!

I could ramble on about all the things I loved about that ls, but suffice it to say I am still swooning from his lethal combo of looks and personality. Ugh :garbage: <3

Edit: For once when I land on top of the page I feel the post is slightly interesting?

Like I already said a few pages ago, the Tumblr embed code does work but not in the same way as before. You have to make sure that there is no space between "[Tumblr]" and "<div", unlike stated in the FAQ.

What a lovely liveshow... it feels a bit more intimate when he broadcasts using the phone—I dig the closer angle and additional eye contact (even when he's waffling).

I've got this prediction for his University Life 2.0 video that if he goes into story mode in order to be #relatable he's gonna drop an ambiguous and unverifiable hint about college dating or make a passing reference to a never disclosed relationship just to eff with the Phan timeline. *tinfoil hat*

I hope they're off to someplace warm again for this year's couples holiday. The little slice of life video of Phil Lester vs Praying Mantis shot when they were in Crete is one of my all time favs—it checks all the domestic boxes and features brave (well brave-ish) boyfriend Phil and a clearly-been-drinking and slightly camp Dan. A true gem.

See, I thought the kitchen was upstairs! (Why do I recall one of them making it sound like it wasn't?) Aww I see a clothes drying rack! (Please tell me those are Phil's emoji pjs and red shirt, and not one of the Pooh onsies). Is it common in London apartments to have the washing machine in the kitchen? (Not saying it has to be). I also see a door handle, leading out to the balcony. So is that the reflection we were seeing in Phil's ls a month ago?
It's pretty common for the washing machine to be in the kitchen of UK houses/apartments. In every house I've ever lived in it's always been in the kitchen. I think unless you live in a house big or old enough to have a utility room (a lot of British houses aren't big enough to have one) then it'll be in the kitchen.

I'm on holiday right now (I flew yesterday so I'm gonna be away for like another week but maybe lurking) I was told something about a board game?? (also have watched like 5 mins of the liveshow this morning)

I'm just going to say that if you would like to join the commitment train, we have seats available

Also I need this fucking board game. First Dates is one of my favourite TV shows

Yup, I just caught up with the liveshow and the four games that are prominently placed facing out on their shelf are -

First Dates...by Big Potato Games.
Obama Llama....by Big Potato Games.
Colour Brain....by Big Potato Games.
The Chameleon...by Big Potato Games.
(and I can also see Scrawl on the shelf)

Coincidence? you decide...

For someone who usually wants to show as little of his surroundings as possible, Dan sure got that shelf in shot plenty.

Hmmm. *scratches chin*
My theories on this: they know people @ Big Potato Games (old friends maybe), OR they're involved with them business-wise somehow (making their own game?). Like, subtly guiding the attention to games or those games for them to drop their own game.

Honestly, I don't care if the game is a #spon. They wouldn't have deliberately placed it there without knowing the implications (people connecting it to phan). They either showed it on accident (in which case it wouldn't be #spon) or just didn't care about people's assumptions.

Maybe it's placed there because it's just been released so it's the last one they added to their collection? Honestly it's not a big deal, I just don't think they deliberately drop hints about their relationship

Yeah, maybe, that's also what I meant with the "on accident" bit. If it's just randomly placed there for whatever reason, it's not really #spon in that sense.
Also, while they may not deliberately drop hints (I believe they do sometimes though), they would be aware of people jumping to conclusions if seeing such a game on their shelf, if they would consciously put it in the shot.

how perfect that I became "cheeky #spon" with a post about #spon

The slight fuzziness of that screenshot is making Dan look that bit softer <3

Lucky pups to keep getting given these board games, they haven't ever used one in a video. Is every bit of angling the camera at a shelf really for us to notice what they own? Maybe, cos it's enough spon in itself if people buy a game, I guess.

This is very interesting! Well done for spotting! Can someone clear this up for me? I thought Obama LLama was made my Matt Edmondson? But on the Big Potato Games website, he's not mentioned at all? Im confused!

Edit: oh silly me! I found the answer myself! He just collabed with Big Potato Games, he's not actually part of it! Ignore me!

I mean, it's still weird to have a game made for people who are dating right there on the shelf. They can decide whether or not to have a certain sponsor, or buy a certain game, and that particular one would be a weird choice for two platonic roomates.

I don't think they are platonic roommates so I totally see your point there and I can definitely see them playing this game tbh. I was just pointing out that it's possible that the company sent them a bunch of their games, including this one because it's the last one they released, and that it was on display on the shelf because it's the last one they got. But it's also possible that they were given the possibility to pick from a catalog the games they wanted the company to send them, in which case it's interesting they picked this one lol.

Although not visible on that shelf, they also played Bucket of Doom (Big Potato Games) in that collab with Cat. Deppy appear to really like/support that company which is no surprise since many of their games encourage/rely on creativity and seem right up their alley (which is why I would watch the shit out of them playing Gloom and maybe Once Upon A Time :love1:).

I loved that liveshow - he was in such a sweet mood, and he looked gorgeous. I think a university video could be really interesting, and I appreciated hearing him talk about the difficulties that come with making videos on heavier topics such as mental health. His comments about writing on the train to Edinburgh were really intriguing, and while he clarified that he's not writing a book (or was he just trying to throw us off....) I'm v curious about the possible big important future plans. Also as an Australian it made me super happy to know that their trip to Australia was Dan's highlight of the year so far :')

I agree that their apartment definitely doesn't look like it's currently being packed up to move - it looked pretty lived in to me. I feel like they'll stay in this apartment at least until the end of this year, although I'm willing to be proved wrong.

Regarding the infamous board game, the fact that it was only released the other day makes me fairly certain that they were sent it (presumably alongside the other games made by that company) and the reason they were so prominently displayed on the shelf was just that they were most recently put away. I'm not sure if they were necessarily paid to display them, as that's pretty subtle as spons go (fairly blurry/background, in a liveshow which isn't going to reach the majority of Dan's subscribers, and not specifically talked about in detail) - I think that either a) dnp are working with the company so received free products or b) the company just sent them the games for free because of dnp's status as "influencers".

Having said that, they're def gonna bring the First Dates game with them to their upcoming couples holiday with B&W, no doubt about it tbh

Same. If they wanted us to know they'd make sure we knew like Dan did with his sexuality. They wouldn't make their fans play detectives like that. I can see them start calling each other boyfriends casually or something like that without much of a comment if they ever wanna come out as a couple but hinting at their relationship by showing us a dating themed board game? Idk, guys.

Also the game literally says it’s for real or pretend daters so… lol. I’m on board with the “they probably have a deal with Big Potato games” theory, especially since the placement of their games on the shelf is so deliberate. At this point I’m pretty sure deppy won’t be careless enough to accidentally out themselves via board game. If they’re confirming anything here it’s probably less their relationship and more the spon deal they might have with Big Potato Games. One game, okay, but placing four games from the same company on the shelf like that is no coincidence.

If you're in a long-term relationship and play this kind of game with another (long-term) couple, you're basically just sharing details of your relationship/sex life with the other couple, and why on earth would you want to do that. I mean some questions are fun and banter-y but nope-nope-nope. The only context I would find this entertaining is with friends and pairing up in fake relationships. Why would you buy it for yourself? (If it's just released it seems like they haven't done that anyway)

Just to be super clear here, I'm not saying that the existence of that game in their flat indicates them being just friends. I'm just saying I don't understand why people would play it as a couple and therefor I don't see the game as any indication of the nature of their relationship what so ever.

Loved the live show. There is a different vibe to the YouTube live shows and perhaps it would be a good idea for him to alternate between YouTube and younow. I liked that he specified that he's interested in pop culture but doesn't really care for Taylor S or Katy P.

I can't seem to English properly today, soz.

Whilst I personally think this entire board game discussion has gotten out of hand in terms of relationship analysis... (I mean... guys. It's a board game. On their shelf. Cards Against Humanity is equally obnoxious.)... I think plenty of close couple friends would play this. I mean, it could be different with different people, but when you're in a committed relationship and very close friends with other people in committed relationships... all of these taboo topics are honestly just fun?

I mean, I've played similar games (whilst enjoying a beverage or 2) and I now know some of my friends' favorite sex positions, where they last hooked up with their SO, the kinkiest thing they've ever been involved in... There's no real shame in it when you know the other couple and trust each other. It's not totally off-base to assume Bryony and Wirrow, for example, would talk about these things with them. Those 2 pairs vacation together and constantly spend time together. These topics would come up even without a board game. They're adults who have sex, after all.

Well and also the fact that two people sharing a living space doesn't mean everything contained in that space belongs to both people (generally speaking, I guess that's slightly more debatable with these two  ), but like... if there was no relationship with Big Potato Games (which there clearly is, making this all mostly pointless anyway) an SO (..for arguments sake, let me live) could have given that game to one of them and they've never played it together. It's possible they've never played it at all (yet) and it just went on the shelf with the other freebies. It's not that deep.

Also I'm with QuiteFriendly on it being gross/uncomfortable? to play that with friends. I truly don't want to know about anybody's sex life, but that's just a personality thing. Which got me thinking how interesting it is we have no clue what their personalities are when it comes to things like that. Because relationship/sex discussions are just mostly non-existent in their content and interactions with the audience, who knows how open they are with discussing and joking about those aspects of their own personal lives with others in their personal lives. Based on admittedly nothing, I feel like Phil specifically wouldn't be that cool with it, even with close friends, unless fully joking and not really giving anything real away. But who knows! Mysteries, these two.
Thanks and have a great day! Oil me

One game, okay, but placing four games from the same company on the shelf like that is no coincidence.
I'm sorry but that's a pretty shitty spon deal if they only mention two games (wasn't Obama llama one made by a friend of theirs or something?) the company has made and the other games are a compete blurry mess in the background. It's more along the lines of supporting a company/getting sent freebies things from a company than a spon. And ? It can be a coincidence with the way it's on the shelf? Maybe it's just how they like it to be organized? What I'm trying to say it, it's not a as deep as we're making it out to be and I don't think it's a sponsor at all. Getting sent freebies is not "being sponsored" unless they tell you to talk about in a video??
There's also the fact that they could've preordered it? Why does it have to be the whole "the company sent them it" thing? They could've just thought the game was funny enough to play so they preordered and got it they day it came out.
We're here, we're queer, we're filled with existential fear!
