Dan & Phil Part 62: Cat Master and Boy-slave

I don't know, do people want them to do a podcast because they (people) think they (D&P) would be more forthcoming in some way that they aren't in videos/liveshows? Because they won't be lol. Maybe there'd be some radio show-esque moments, but those moments I think mostly came from the radio show being live. A recorded/edited podcast would be the same as their joint videos. Planned and performed. Be careful what you wish for and all that. You'll have pry their 'shitty gaming videos' from my cold dead hands.

I really want to pretend like a podcast would essentially be a joint liveshow with them sharing more of themselves and actually sharing opinions and talking about stuff other than things that are on brand. But knowing d&p their podcast would be over-produced, segmented, and spon-ridden( which I don't rlly mind) and kind of a mess. I think that segments are fine but they need to be more natural. The appeal of podcasts especially the ones without a premise that's just based on personality is authenticity so a podcast really wouldn't work if they're "on" all the time. That being said if they somehow took "Super Amazing Project" and turned it into a podcast I would take all of this back and stan the everloving shit out of that.

Also does anyone else think that they would do an advice podcast ala Dear Hank and John cause that seems up their alley and while personally I am tired of ISG, I think with them doing it together I'd be happy.

Dang this post is getting long one last thing: I'm so proud of dan, his video made me make an appointment with my uni's counseling department and admit some truths to myself and I'm glad he sees the effect his story has on people.

Dan calling Phil a rich kid stood out to me. We know that Phil comes from a pretty wealthy family but Deppy don’t mention it often so it surprised me when Dan metioned it.

Oh gosh, I wasn't expecting Phil's new video today but what a pleasant surprise! No DITL unfortunately but I wasn't really expecting it anyway. I'm gonna watch it in a bit but for some reason I don't like watching people eat, so I'm not sure how much I'll be able to enjoy this.

I liked seeing them eat the same thing without making silly remarks on it, liked Dan feeding Phil, etc. They've been looking REALLY good in videos and I feel like they were both in a good mood too. Good video!

Normally I'd enjoy some mindlessly pleasant content like this on AP (well, of other kinds. I hate food and the sound of chewing so this was a lot to deal with) but oooh boy, just dig that knife in deeper. This is the last AP video of the year? This????? It's just the weirdest spon? 'Go watch anime, but first watch us eat some garbage in school outfits' like... ok.... They couldn't have decorated a tree while talking about anime? Or something?

They looked great. That's half my review. The rest of my review is just a series of increasingly annoyed question marks lmao. ???????

I was worried it would be a bit more "here let me educate you on a culture that ive absorbed completely from anime" but was pleasantly surprised it was just a taste-test thing lol. Basically funny "nostalgia" over school days and sharing food together (noticed they cut the bit where dan drinks from the ribena juice box after phil lmao). They haven't done enough festive things this year, where are all the weird ass santa-themed flash games?? the cute christmas sweaters?

I would love a DITL but on the other hand there is was a ton of uproar over the Australian DITL (bed/roomgate) that I can't blame them for skipping out. They seem to be sticking to their theme this year: give us cute pictures and glimpses on their terms but keep their private lives for themselves and that is okay.

I liked this video and Dan always seems nicer on Phil's channel. It's like he's toned down his image to align with the easy vibe of Phil's and I am always here for that. I also liked Phil's sass with the banner at the bottom. It really isn't breaking news that Dan is in another AP video since this year Phil's channel has really been a joint effort.

It seems like Dan isn't doing a spon this year for CrunchyRoll-interesting that they gave him a tag and Phil put it up on his video-maybe Crunchyroll also figures that they are now a double act so they don't need 2 videos

I'm just gonna say frankly that I love it. I'm still chuckling here even after it ended. It's such a classic Phil video that you always wonder wtf but at the same time, it makes you smile saying oh no. Sure, it's not a ditl but I enjoyed it nonetheless. :mrgreen: Just one question though. So, anything goes now? Japanese schoolgirl outfit? Feeding the other kinda unironically with the chopsticks you just used? Drinking from the same straw and eating the same piece of food on camera? I can't wait to see what 2018 holds.

I was sad when I saw the alert because it’s not festive content (holding out hope for some tiny side channel holiday goodness, tree decorating, seasonal candle haul, mince pie codex, anything). But watching the video made me very very happy, I had tears in my eyes at one point.

Apparently I didn’t pay close enough attention to the thumbnail because a few minutes in and I figured they had moved past the feeding each other for views stage. It seemed carefully editing to not show their mouths touching the same area of food or drink container. But then there was chopstick feeding and somehow that is cuter than anything. I’m a very simple woman, forgive me.

The breaking news editing was funny (that self awareness). It was very “We” centric (we love food, our holiday, we are watching) and even had the Dan and Phil plushies in the background. So I’m very satisfied. Bless Crunchyroll spons.

A shame we didn’t get to see the skirt.

Oh and caramel corn is nothing like candy corn Phil.

Can’t imagine we’ll get a Dan ls today. Fingers crossed for Wednesday.

I loved Phil's new video! I actually love talking about cultural differences, especially between the UK and Japan as I've had jobs teaching English to Japanese school-kids, and I lived in Japan for a year, so it felt very relevant and nostalgic to me

I think I would have been 4 academic years behind Dan at school and maybe schools became more health-conscious in the 2000s, idk, and my mum also would NEVER have bought crisps for me to have in my lunch, but wow, just wow. I remember being really jealous of other kids' Dairylea Dunkers at the time but now I appreciate my mum making me proper sandwiches and packing fruit into my lunchbox so much, I could feel my heart burn just looking at their lunch

OH, no nobody said that, I'm just assuming. I don't think he'll have time since he usually leaves a few days before xmas? And with gamingmas to deal with, and it's already the 11th, I feel like there's no more time this month for another one? I'd love to be proven wrong ( ) but I'm not going to get my hopes up, this whole season is disappointing and stressful enough lol.

Hmm. Well. I didn't really like that to be completely honest. I def wasn't expecting a ditl or anything so it's not that I'm let down, I just didn't like the video. I found myself feeling sort of annoyed throughout and I'm not 100% sure why. Well, I can pinpoint some things, but I don't want to come across as completely bitter and negative and some of the stuff that bothered me was admittedly kinda petty so I'll stop myself from writing a paragraph of bitching lol. Idk, maybe I'll rewatch it after I'm done with exams so I'm less stressed to see if my opinion changes.

I got to admit I wasn't THAT into the video at first, but then it slowly became more interesting. I can't help but point out how adorable they both look, Dan especially is rocking that outfit oh my god how, how?? Really cute seeing them go all nostalgic at their own lunch, and the differences in each for me since I had neither of these things growing up (any latin americans here?).

I just can't help but feel happy at the fact that Dan is self aware there's nothing surprising about him being in Phil's channel. It's truly like a joint ad since it doesn't seem Dan is doing one (at least this year). Going on with my day and waiting for the gaming video later.

I thought that was a cute video. I love looking at cute bento, although I'd never have the patience to make them, myself. I'd be curious to taste pickled onion crisps/chips, but I've never seen them in my neck of the world. I would love to see a full body shot of Dan dressed as a schoolgirl, for many reasons. I was just ranting about this editing. What exactly are they trying to accomplish here? I'll be honest - I do ship them but I can also accept that I may be wrong. However Phil likes to play Phan up on his channel but can't quite commit so we get weird jumpcuts and strange editing. Dan and Phil are the very definition of mixed signals and sometimes that frustrates.

I mean... not to get any hopes up but festive day in the life was uploaded on december 20th 2014, the video before that was uploaded on December 9th 2014. Also phil mentioned in his last live show that his last live show for the year will be this week. I’m not saying it’s possible phil might upload a festive day in the life on the 21st, but... that would be a live show filler day. Just saying.
Also while I get they wanna be private and all, they haven’t even shown what their tree looks like this year, which to me I still find very odd as they do pretty much every year. Unless ofcourse it’s not decorated yet. Hmm.
Ether way, I still have yet to watch the new video because I was too salty and disappointed about this not being a festive ditl, but realizing this, I’ll watch it later. I’ll cling onto hope for a festive day in the life till Xmas day.

this is a super boring comment but thats ok i'm valid: so we know dan was vegan for a while right? do you guys think he's vegetarian now but is choosing not to really mention it? i noticed he avoided eating any of the meat in the video and gave it to phil instead. i have no idea if anyone else cares at all about this hahaha but as a vegan myself i'd love for dan to be veggie if he felt like veganism was too much of a task
