what made me understand how much Dan actually likes the Phandom, and also made me a bit proud, is one time in a liveshow he said something along the lines, that he has an audience who are "not used to put up with anybody's bullshit" and i thought, WELL, that's a trait for the phandom that has always caught my eye.

Indeed. It's a good trait, but I often wish the phandom would be more clever about it. Y'know, less screaming horde of offended teens playing into everyone's stereotypes and more sarcy sassmastas with attitude and funny put-downs.

Like I remember this one time when the phandom was GLORIOUS on twitter: Twitter Video reposted that pancake flipping video from earlier this year and some moron commented on it going "is that a guy or a girl?"

The phandom didn't freak out. It didn't scream at him. It didn't rant at him.

It just very calmly proceeded to gif shame him.

akui I'm so behind Daenerys!Dan and JohnSnow!Phil you don't even know. I feel like Daenarys is more 2012 Dan than anything though - bit less mature, bit more in the fray of a situation she can't actually control but must try to, bit more impulsive and less racked by obvious self-doubt holding her back.

It's like some crybullies in the Phandom went directly to "OMGZ, we must police teh interwebz!!!1!1!!" mode, without actually knowing how little/innocuous an event it was, and it all snowballed from there. I'd say that even hinting at videos going up, never mind their content etc is daft to do unless you've got it pre-uploaded and scheduled, and even then it's dicey(!) But I'm slightly pessimistic sometimes and always expect/plan for things to be more difficult/problematic than they usually turn out to be. YMMV.
But I think she's hyping/baiting.

I mean because final cut is such a shitty shitty software, it happens, it happens a lot. She must've linked all her library to the camera memory card not her actual pc, so when she removes her memory card, even though she has a copy of all the footage in her pc, the library won't link to the files. it's easily fixed unless her memory card is broken. Then she may lost all the editing, but the footage should still be there IF she backed them up.

If she didn't back up and her camera memory card is broken... Then yes it's gonna be vegas all over again.

Maybe this is for another thread, but I'm confused as to why she's editing? I've always understood it that Louise has others edit her main channel videos and that they generally get done at least a few days ahead of time. All of which makes me believe she's BSing to rile people up.

Really hope Louise manages to fix whatever's going on there, or at least that that section wasn't too important! I don't think she's trying to stir people up with it, simply because she could easily have been hyping the video up for ages now, announced it a week in advance or something like Hazel did, but she didn't. As sad as I am that there are no hints yet of make up getting involved, I am pleased it's going to be a Not Worth Watching, that's exactly the kind of stuff I love to see from

I wasn't too bothered by Hazel's weirdness on twitter at first, but I'm surprisingly pissed that Dodie felt the need to get involved, wouldn't have expected that from her. I know she lived with Evan, but whatever she felt about the phandom stayed private previously, getting into it on twitter is just entirely unnecessary, especially with Hazel clearly baiting. That entire last tweet from Hazel was unnecessary, for that matter, how long is she going to drag things out? After being in the 1D fandom I must admit I'm pretty touchy about this, but it is ridiculous how much people will judge teen girls' passions just because of the typical fanbase - I've never had the same judgmental response to annually camping in a field for a week for Wimbledon as I have to once spending £90 on a 1D concert, and it's pretty clear which of those is the more ridiculous overinvestment!

I still think you're all being a bit hard on hazel though. It's pretty normal for smaller you tubers to want to gain everything they can from interactions with bigger you tubers. Look how many people put in the thumbnail of videos that they barely appear in. I agree that her last tweet was a bit much but it must be difficult for people who don't interact with the Phandom very often to know how to handle them. (Dodie should have stayed out of it but she supports hazel on everything.)

(Off topic: Those of you who write 50+ line posts on a regular basis; how long do you usually spend typing them? I have come to realize that one of the reasons I don't post much is because it takes me too long to form my thoughts into coherent text and the topic has usually moved on by the time I post anything. )

Hopefully we get Louise's NWW video, I'll be really annoyed if it's lost although I think that's unlikely because as people have mentioned she doesn't usually edit her own videos.. If she's just doing this to bait the Phandom that's pretty unnecessary, people are hyped for any D&P content already!

Hazel & Phil filmed quite a while ago, and Hazel was editing hers the night before/day of. Some of us never grow out of "my essay is due tomorrow, I guess I should start writing it.." or they've actually just been busy.

Conspiracy theory time: Dan/Phil didn't have time with the tour and everything to edit hers as well as all of their stuff, so she had to agree to edit it herself because they don't want (whoever it is she has do her editing usually?) to see any uncut footage or to edit things in a way they wouldn't be comfortable with...

I actually wouldn't be surprised if Dan and/or Phil requested she edit it herself since they might trust her discretion better than that of a relative stranger. I mean, kinda but also kind of not rational for two people who are that careful about public perception of themselves.

If nothing else, maybe she had someone do the bulk of the editing and this was her pass over it.
