this is very off-topic, but i found this picture on my laptop. it's from the halloween gathering in 2009 and apparently, dan and phil are sitting on the fountain in that picture, but i'm not sure if it's really them. does anyone see deppy or do you think it's just random people?

Maybe? Hard to tell because the picture is so dark, though that guy's shirt/jacket looks solid blue rather than plaid/brown. I'm leaning to 'probably not', but who knows.

this is random, but I'm rewatching the latest Sims video, and the one thing that bugs me about it is that when the fire happens, Dan says something along the lines of "let's react to this first" - it's not the first time he's done that, either, I think it was in some of the Undertale vids as well.
and to me, that feels like such a strangely unnatural thing to say? (...) saying "let's react to this" kind of ruins the immersion for me, makes it seem robotic in an odd way. idk if Dan's just being an ironic buttmunch or something as usual, but I just feel a bit weird about it.

Interesting, I took that more as "let's deal with this first" as in they need to figure out what to do/take it in first, not react for the camera. Hm, I need to rewatch.

On another note, why is the youtubers who collab with this year always try to stirs up some drama? I remember Dean being really mean to the phandom in a deleted tweet when they were going to upload the video with Phil. Unfortunately i don't have the screenshots.

I just don't find Pj very funny- a little boring. On the contrary though, from what I've watched of pewdiepie, I think he's hilarious. Whatevs, taste is subjective. About PJ's video: I like PJ because he's unapologetically weird. I sometimes wish Phil wasn't so guarded (as of late) in that aspect. I love watching Phil videos from 2008 - 2009 for that reason.

Bless Charles and Alli in general. That's my main takeaway from this. I never realised before (watching the entire long vlogs, constantly skipping forward and too busy trying to find Deppy to think about anyone else) but those two are soooo lovely to Dan and Phil, I want to hug them and now I'm sad they broke up. Dan in particular has A LOT of random, natural interaction with especially Charles, which I find very interesting to watch.

Stakhanov I suggest in your next dream, try to be a bit like Charles and Alli and Deppy might just fall over their bare-chested selves to want to be close to you.

I agree with above ^. I totally get where you're coming from though, it might be a case of awkward wording, but I'm pretty sure it was just a way of saying "before we rush into this situation, let's take a moment to actually look at what's happening." Maybe the word "react" just has weird associations now, thanks to youtube culture in general.

OMG, I actually remember watching and as soon as he said the word "forums" I froze for a second before I realized what he was ACTUALLY referring to.
I know that essentially every youtuber hates gossip forums, but I also feel like this particular forum community is different from the norm. On the site that shan't be named, I normally only looked at the D&P forums, and when I ventured elsewhere for the first time I was so shocked at everyone's attitude, and only then did I realize that the concept of those forums was actual trash-talking. Don't get me wrong, this forum has it's fair share of negativity, but it's more calm discussion and analyzation than anything else, filled with chill video reviews and suggestions. It makes me wonder that, if on the off-chance they actually DO read these forums, if they'd have the same reaction of "blah blah people with no life talking crap on the internet" or if they would view us as a more reasonable community that give helpful opinions and insight every once in a while.
