Huh... I thought there would be more close up detailed jewelry design drawings... I love that fan art, and I’m pleased it’s being shared more, but- just, huh...
Are they going to translate that into a new piece? Or was this all just for fun? I was telling my sister about the phabrege thing at lunch earlier today. What a strange world we live in.
Ironic that their username is mediocre-masterpieces and that it’s now loosely tied to this luxury brand. Oh and prize was $500. Nice.

When you are old and/or rich, years from now, and your partner wants to give you something really really special and expensive, and asks you what you'd like--you'll say somthing from Faberge!Kimship wrote: Mon Feb 19, 2018 8:19 pm ...The Faberge thing is still the oddest thing. It's the sort of happening that makes me laugh not because it's funny(although it is) but because I'm so confused.
That's what they are gambling on. Even if this describes just one phan years down the road, it will have been worth the effort/money they put in now.

"Why am I left-handed?"
"Everybody makes mistakes."
It was $500 apparently. Kind of weird it won since they didn't use that canvas for the design but it all just amuses meDatCog wrote: Mon Feb 19, 2018 8:18 pm

To be fair, I respect Faberge's choice. You could really say it was a masterpiece, despite the artist's username. Congratulations to the winner, anyway. I'm sure she deserves the money.
I wonder how long the company will try and get Phil's attention.

I don't usually watch Jacksepticeye but I saw on tumblr that he mentioned Dan and Phil in recent video:
I've seen many people in the past get upset when other youtubers mention Dan and Phil in their videos. Usually it's because the youtuber is either using them to clickbait or they are in some way exploiting Dan and Phil's relationship (queerbaiting?)
But, I've also seen some people get annoyed when the youtuber is doing neither of those things. So what is the line? are Dan and Phil unique in that they deserve to not be innocently or jokingly discussed by youtubers? For example some people seemed upset when Shane, who make conspiracies about all youtubers, made videos discussing them, even when it wasn't related to their relationship. Is it generally not okay for youtubers to discuss each other with out getting permission first, or is it only when they are talking about Dan and Phil?(OT: The Shane videos I've have watched where he mentions them generally put me off, but I think I might just dislike his personality, so I can't be objective.)
Is it a different situation if the youtuber's total view count won't be affected by mentioning them?
I'm just curious as to what people think about this.

I'd be lying if I said I wasn't glad to see the blossom merch go, but I'm really looking forward to what their tour merch will look like, and the concepts they'll use for future merch. (ngl if they sold socks I'd get like 50 so fingers crossed lol)

I love this sooooo so much, as someone in high school in America, I followed all of those students on Twitter as soon as I could, as this means a lot to me, and seeing him talk about this is making me so happy

Hopefully it’s tour merch they’re making room for — only two months left until it starts.

Okay, so Phil liked Dan's tweet and there is so much love radiating from my body right now
I thought what you linked was adorable. I don't mind youtubers mentioning Dan and Phil in stuff like that when it's obviously lighthearted fun. I actually kinda hope youtubers I watch mention them from time and time because I love hearing about them. Like in one of Hannah Hart, Marmie, or Grace's recent videos (Tyler Oakley was also there) they told about Dan and Phil meeting Mamrie for the first time and I love hearing stuff like that. But I really had a problem with the Shane and Psychic Twins thing though. I felt like that was crossing a line. This type of thing just comes down to how people personally feel about it.Afunnyworld wrote: Mon Feb 19, 2018 10:11 pm I don't usually watch Jacksepticeye but I saw on tumblr that he mentioned Dan and Phil in recent video:I've seen many people in the past get upset when other youtubers mention Dan and Phil in their videos. With the #BackEgg thing, wasn't the point to design an egg, not draw a picture of Phil (not that I'm complaining, I love the winning pic)? I'm still struggling to see what the point was for Fabergé (although if they start selling a ~£45 candle range, count me in).
Also I could be wrong but I thought the prize was a $500 Fabergé voucher, not $500 cash - which if true, according to the website, will buy the winner 1/3 of the cheapest thing they sell: a plain ring!

I'm just curious as to what people think about this.) also it's something that bothers me a lot the ultra defensive part of the phandom. I mean, i get it when is something like Onision or, at least for me, the Shane thing was a bit shitty, but apart from that
i don't know, i hope i said something understandable.
IMO, this is different from Shane and the Psychic twins using phan to promote Shane's podcast. They used the phan discussion as the highlight of the whole episode. I'd say most people were bothered by the way Shane treated their relationship and used them as clickbait fairly often, not by causal mentions. Marcus received a similar reaction to his Dan&Phil conspiracy video.

Just curious, how you know all the blossom merch is going? Did I miss something? From their store I see that the blossom poster and tote are on sale, as well as the hats, but not the shirts. Lion and llama pocket shirts are on deep discount as is the hair shirt (those last three I’m sure they are no longer producing and don’t want to take on tour). Looks like bye bye pixel people too. I’m excited for new merch and I want to see those pastel plushies already!hello9217 wrote: Mon Feb 19, 2018 10:02 pm So they updated the tour site to show who is sold out and they are getting rid of blossom merch to make way for new merch. I saw a clip of Jack’s little mention, it was funny.
Oh dear if the voucher thing is true, they’re still hoping to make at least $1,000

I think there's a clear difference between exploiting someone for views and mentioning them in passing. Spreading rumors/speculating at the expense of DnP is one thing, but just mentioning their existence or pointing something out in relation to them is pretty harmless. I doubt anyone's getting worked up over people talking about them innocently, unless they're way to defensive.Afunnyworld wrote: Mon Feb 19, 2018 10:11 pm I've seen many people in the past get upset when other youtubers mention Dan and Phil in their videos. I can't even imagine what people in the U.K. and around the globe must think when they see politicians in the U.S. refuse to do anything while children are literally slaughtered en masse. It makes me feel ashamed, it feels like we're just waiting for the next tragedy so we can rinse and repeat the "thoughts and prayers" charade. I'm hoping something will change fast, and soon.

Love Dan’s tweet. I’ve been following things and hope this new determination to make people heard will lead to things starting to change. Signing petitions and tweeting feels endless and fruitless, and seeing so many awful things keep happening, it’s hard not to feel jaded as hell.
I already cleared a space on my wall for an II poster, though not entirely intentionally. I got sick of their robot faces and one of the other quadrants of the photobooth poster so moved it to outside my door instead (bedroom, not front door!) also removed Tyler Oakley. I’ve been expecting they’ll do a poster similar to the tour announcement, but only because that’s all we’ve seen so far and my imagination hasn’t gone any further. I’d be very happy if they didn’t look worried in it, though. Or angry like the UK and US ones for Tatinof emulating rock bands.
I loved the clip from Jack’s video, I saw it on Tumblr. Actually I first saw what he’d said in one of those glowing brain memes and thought the person who’d made it had made that up too so I was extra tickled to see it had come from Jack.
