I'm googling entertainer coaches to get an idea of how many they sleep, and of course, there are endless possibilities. But I did find some general info on price: about $1,000 to $1,500 per day.
I'm wondering how many the have in their "crew" that would need to travel with them. Maybe Martyn and Cornelia will have their own coach to carry merch?

What goes around, comes around

I don't see why they would get sick of each other more than usual tbh. They already spend all of their time together in a confined space so the bus is not gonna change too much. Also from a personal experience I have done road trips with friends/family and we didn't get tired of each other. Obviously it depends of the people but they know each other really well at this point and they all seem quite laid-back and easy going (talking about Martyn and Cornelia too) so idk. I don't expect drama.

If anything it'll be comforting to have each other with all of the stress of the touring and meet-and-greets. M&C too; familiar faces are a good thing to make abnormal situations feel normal.daphenaxa wrote:I don't see why they would get sick of each other more than usual tbh. Omg are Martyn/Cornelia going to be partying with them in Vegas too? I'm too excited. Imagine if they squeeze in a Vegas hotel liveshow 2.0: now with 100% less mentions of strippers & boobs! :sisterdaniel:

Bare minimum would be merch + tour manager(s) + sound/lighting/production manager/tech(s) (that's pretty muchkarma_yeah wrote:I'm googling entertainer coaches to get an idea of how many they sleep, and of course, there are endless possibilities. what most independent artists tour with... though sometimes tour managers can be multi-taskers who know tech stuff as well, eliminating one human in there!). Additional travel crew they may have with them (I'll probably miss something since this is off the top of my head): security of some kind, drivers, assistants/regular management, scout, & actual set up/break down crew. They'll likely have at least two buses: one for them + maybe management + maybe Martyn/Cornelia and one for the rest of the crew (they make sleepers with more beds & less amenities) plus truck(s) for the gear.

I agree with you totally with regards to each other and even Martyn and Cornelia. I'm wondering more about the "crew" (however many that may be). I wouldn't expect they would know them as well, and the amount of "personal space" diminishes with each additional person.daphenaxa wrote:I don't see why they would get sick of each other more than usual tbh. And you're right, they are quite laid-back/easy going, but they are also notorious introverts (for whom social interactions can be draining).
(Realistically, it's only 2 months and quite survivable, but I'm sure there will be challenges).

Question for those who saw TATINOF in the UK: What's the set like? Did it look easy/quick to set up/take down/transport in a van/truck?

phil isn't too far off the target though, dan really does look reminiscent of a woodland animal. his hair and eyes are both so warm toned that he reminds me of a tiny doe. or a baby fawn. yeah a baby fawn with its gangly legs and no sense of spatial size
that's gotta be the worst, that sucks. since dan left before her i wonder if she flew in by herself. no sleep + flying solo sounds like a death sentence of boredom lolphamnotof wrote: So tragic, she didn't say PROTIP.

I really don't think you can compare the stress of the tour and lack of privacy or space in the tour bus/planes to them just spending a lot of time together in their London flat. Technically yeah, they both classify as a confined space... but in London they can easily go to another room or leave the flat whenever they want to be alone.daphenaxa wrote:I don't see why they would get sick of each other more than usual tbh. That being said, of course I'd hope that you're right and my worries won't come true.

Personally, I'm hoping Dan uploads a 30-odd mins video that starts with him and Phil saying "Blah blah quick "Hi"/intro, then "WE'RE IN VEGAS!!! HERE'S A VIDEO!" then cuts to black screen for the remainder. I'd be laughing too hard to be angry!

I've mentioned this in the past, but I don't mind repeating myself. hahah
I have spent a lot of time in tour buses both as a visitor and living in them for months at a time.
If Deppy are going the traditional tour bus tour of front lounge+bunks+back lounge, there are a couple of things to consider...
When you have a band touring, it's commonplace for all the band members to have the equal sleeping arrangements; everyone in a bunk. Considering this is the D&P tour, which they are financing themselves, paired with a handful of crew members (most likely the majority of the set up crew will be local), it is highly unlikely that they'll be cramming themselves in the mobile coffins (yes, that's what they call them). At 6'3'', they will basically have to spend every night sleeping in the fetal position in order to fit. I can stretch my legs in them, but cannot fully sit up, and I'm 5'5''. My guess honestly, and this again is if they're going traditional tour bus route and not say, more the RV/StarWagon route, is that they'll have a bed lounge in back, and bunks in the center for others. Economically, the wisest choice for them would be to get a traditional 8 or 12-sleeper bunk situation, with all crew (Deppy included) in one bus, with a small hitch off back for merch/stage set-up.
It will be immediately apparent as soon as the first date hits, what bus they got and what the layout/sleeping arrangements are (I almost feel badly for them, if they ARE together, that they'll have to pay more for separate beds, or just sleep in bunks, so the fans don't research the bus layouts and discover only one single queen-sized bed)
Also, tour buses have large bathroom tanks (No #2 ever!) and can go 14+ hours per fuel fill-up, so bathroom and gas breaks don't really need to be factored into travel times

Never a bath (requires too much water), but sometimes they will have showers. I will say from some personal experience that the showers are kind of awful, as there's no water pressure and you can't use much water (it's all on a reserve tank that has to be used for all sink/shower/toilet purposes), so it's basically like showering by holding a lawn hose above your head for a couple minutes.karma_yeah wrote:

So, what's stopping them from doing what they did in GB: just book local hotels/ Airbnb / whatevs as they drive from performance to performance. They could get some sort of bus for them and the crew and still get more comfort for the nights. Plus they get some alone time which i think they much prefer above living together with a bunch of peeps.
I don't think it's that much more expensive to house a small crew in some reasonably priced accommodations.

Finding my own inarticulate prose
Weirding out strangers and laughing at those
Jaundiced and jaded, postured and posed
Not that we’re special it’s just that we’re
Closing in on a place where we might get to be

What's stopping them is the tour itinerary. America is very very large. A large chunk of the time in-between dates will need to be used solely for travel time.Stakhanov wrote:So, what's stopping them from doing what they did in GB: just book local hotels/ Airbnb / whatevs as they drive from performance to performance. There is a possibility on certain dates that they they get a hotel room for one night, or maybe a hotel just to shower/get ready.
But realistically, they won't really have time between dates to perform, break down set, get to hotel room, sleep, wake up, drive to next venue, and set up by soundcheck.
