I agree so much with the gradual introduction thing @ame , mostly because I've had quite a few moments when I really looked at what 2018 dnp are like (specially when I try to watch an older video and mostly can't get trough a few minutes) and realize how much not-shook I get at them these days, of course I squee and everything but if some of these things happened a few years back I would be screaming and unable to sleep for days while today they just make me a little extra happy and hyper but them I'm moving on, I think that them also making everything feel so natural has a big part of it.
The most clear example for me was exactly the bed thing, I saw it was one bed in the gaming video and all but shrugged at that, only when I saw people discussing it on here that I actually looked back and was shook at how not-shook I was, if you know what I mean? It's not about if they slept on the bed or not but mostly because: can you imagine pre-baking universe dnp taking the risk of people freaking out about it? 2018 is something else and it's so great.

thanks @Ataraxia25 and @rizzo! ive had a bit too much iced coffee and ended up writing that around midnight...i thought i had a fever dream writing that but i guess not lol
autumnhearth wrote: Sat Aug 18, 2018 2:39 pm There is still a bit of freaking out that I see in the tags on Tumblr (and oh dear when I took a scroll through Twitter yesterday), like “um explain?!” and the occasional “omg phan proof?!” but I just roll my eyes and keep scrolling. I really do wish I had never watched some fan made videos (not even just the crack ones or ones with demon titles, but sometimes just recaps) because every now and then that high pitched “bitch what the fuck?! what the fuck?!?!” pops in my head and it’s so annoying.
^ im sorry but this made me cry laughing so hard so early in the morning because same  also you know that xfiles theme song but with the bass turned up? me whenever someone talks about "phan theories"

also @kavat and @LurkingTrash the post-baking universe is an entire Mood™ and its true. i think ive had the realization gradually too. as a person who had left the phandom then came back, it never really hit me how much theyve changed after i started watching their 2017 content a lot more. i was there for dan when he dropped the big double D but i was just as supportive as i was brimming with questions, also i was still feeling apprehensive on interacting with the fandom again.

nevertheless, theyre really onto something with these baking videos man...i remember i fully came back because of that easter video where they wore bunny ears was like........something clicked in me. literally, my head took the entire 16 minutes and 9 seconds to process what was happening. then i started back tracking and watching the videos from before that i had missed and now here we are.

who knows what else is in store for the future

ooo a thing that comes to mind with easing us in is the clip of dan messing with a sleeping phil when they're clearly in bed with each other (not in a "bed discourse" way) but like... what were they thinking? i am just v thankful for that moment but i cant fully express it rn because its hard to type when your cat is holding your hand to her belly forcing you to pet her.

so cute! give her an extra pet session from me please!

also, i need to say that i love every post of this conversation right now, everyone’s reactions and this plus the whole post baking universe is making so excited for the future. this more-relaxed type of content makes me so so happy! (sorry i’m a sap tonight)

oh i will! :sleepypuppy: (it says sleepy puppy but lets pretend it's a black cat)

oof, i agree! like, i don't think they have this exactly calculated well thought-out mastermind plan to "becoming more open."
i think they are just,, taking it slow and are more comfortable and confident and happier and carefree!!!! (and more open, fight me if you disagree.)

speaking of baking, what do y'all's want them to do for halloween baking? do you think there's going to be a challenge? i kinda hope it's just a good old fashion baking vid, no sweaters, just #bants.

I'm working on the Seattle matinee transcript, and found this part really funny:
During the 'what's in dan's box' section, one of the audience members says 'homemade meth', and this is what follows:
P: Let's say.. homemade drugs. Can we say that?
D: Is that better?!
P: I don't think that's better. I think it's too late, I've already said it out loud.
D: Phil accidentally said that I have a meth lab in my room.
P: Which is very illegal, so you should not do -
D: Oh Phil, did you really have to disclaimer not to do meth? Okay, guys, AmazingPhil is here saying 'don't do drugs', or you'll end up like Dan apparently.

[moves on to last ball]
P: What's in the box, please don't say meth.
D: [genuine laugh]

^im leaning more towards them "naturally coming into conclusion this way" rather than them hiring a professional pr team, but it is still an option that they couldve possibly done so........yeah man, that sleepy phil clip was like.....are we seeing this? am i allowed to see this? if that happened today, we wouldve just gone "nice"

I was thinking about this today if you believe it! I really wish they would attempt to do these cake/pudim in a glass that resemble a cemetery with worms that are as realistic as possible (can't find where I saw one to link but there's several on pinterest) meaning no pre-made colorful gummy worms and everything but I don't know if they would go for it because it resembles graveyard brownies too much. I'd love anything that involves a little bit more skill even if it's just to laugh at how much they failed

Another Seattle matinee quote, which I won't put under a spoiler since it's not a show spoiler:

D: Yes, yes. That is actually the message of the show, which is why we called it Interesting Insects.

I just found it amusing, Dan playing along with the renaming of the II show, which fans used to do a lot when it was first introduced.

oohh! yeah, i've actually thought about them doing that too, strangely enough lol.
i wanna see them do something with more skill as well, like a haunted gingerbread house, pumpkin pie (haunted somehow) or donuts !!! ik they made donuts with Ro a couple years ago but i'd like to see them try it on their own. maybe shape them to look like ghosts with a little mouth hole poked into it.
ghost-nut....? dough-ghost...?
OOF what about cinnamon rolls!!!!! those are festive right?

the ghost nut jokes write themselves lol and can you image the hole jokes :0 i'd also love it if they did something that requires more skill even if they decided to a mince pie bake or other savoury bakes!

"What the fuck" was my genuine reaction to both of these. Why are they so beautiful?? It's 9 in the morning here guys, what are you doing to me?? Now all I want to feel complete is one of these "we're gorgeous and we know it" married selfies. Come on, stand next to each other and take a picture pls.

Also, a cute m&g pic:

What is it with Australia that just brings out the confidence in Dan (and now apparently Phil too)? The last couple of times they've been there we got #freetheknee, first sight of curly hair and black nail polish, followed by glitter nail polish. Today they're both giving us real fuckboi energy. What's in the water over there!? I'm definitely not complaining

Edit to add this m&g picture just because I'm jealous of that jacket

Posting this here to ask what you all think. Cornelia posted her croissant pic 22 hrs ago and Dan posted his 7 hrs ago. Recommendation or delay? The lighting looks different enough, even factoring phones and filter, that they are probably separate days. Anyone care to do the math for Melbourne time? Yes, these are my in-depth thoughts at 7 am on Sunday morning when I really want one of those croissants.
Laughing at the separate dressing rooms. That must be a rarity.

i vote delay, lune is very highly regarded as the best croissants in melbourne and sometimes the world. and they are fkn DELICIOUS, my housemate used to live across the road from lune, the lines constantly snake around the block and they usually sell out about noon. unless they're staying close to that area i don't see them realistically going back twice in a row.

just got home from ii and it was so fun! a mosh pit party/dance off started in front of the stage during interval and accidentally kept going when the second act started and everyone had to scramble for their seats lol

omg ok this is hilarious, i think phil is either very jet lagged & in severe lack of sleep or he messed up sending some preplanned tweets because this is a bit of mess haha or maybe he's just a guy who tweets twice consecutively now ?
