Just re-watched the "Get Involved" vid again... It's something I've picked up on here and there, but How northern does Dan sound? Fitting in with the in-laws Lesters!

If someone ever were to out them, it would have to be done with "got nothing to lose"-kind of attitude. Can you imagine the shitstorm? It would have a huge impact on your career, and probably not a good one, no one wants to be around a blabbermouth and even if the phandom was happy about it they'd probably get really mad protecting their smol sweet cinnamon angel rolls of sunshine and rainbows. And while YouTubers might seem like a tightly knit group of besties, they might not actually be that good friends even if it seems that way on camera/social media. If they are together I really doubt that most of them have a clue about what's going on and they're just as lost as we are.

charlieskies. and, I don't think people will listen to any desperate youtuber, considering the way people reacted to charlie basically outing Dan.

That's kind of already happened, though. Emma Blackery and Evan Edinger immediately come to mind. Not on GG, but on twitter, an even bigger platform. Phandom is just very good at minimizing everything out of a stance that they only want to accept things from Dan and Phil themselves. (Which isn't a bad one, just not one I can personally relate to, because I think Dan and Phil are very unbiased, unreliable narrators of their own story to the public.)

That would be total YT-suicide. I can't quite wrap my head around anyone doing it out of spite/purposefully/stupidly. Actually, only one specific group - but their chances of getting anything un-explain-away-able on these days is microscopic...!
I'm much less cynical today I think...!

My vote is for happy and angry fans. But I don't think they would ever do that tho, they are very very careful.

They'll do what they've always done. they'll ignore it. No excuses, no explanations, just ignorance. Pretty good tactic. If it blows up, they'll say something about it being the camera angle or something. Honestly, I think most of the phandom will assume that it's been photoshopped.

oh yeah. The vday video, obviously. charlieskies, and his attack on Dan. Their general behaviour in 2009. If they were a straight couple, it would be accepted that they're dating by now.

That is kind of what I think as well.

I’m half convinced that if they were caught kissing, but were to deny it lots of people would believe them. Or at least pretend to believe them.

I don't think everyone in yt (apart from their close friends) knows but it must be like a thing that no one says it out loud but you kind of know, did that even make sense? Anyways, Dan said so himself: don't trust people who tell you other people's secrets.

Oh yeah, you'd have to also consider the credibility of the outer. charlieskies happened, no one bats an eye. If someone like Emma outed them, she would just get hated even more. Felix? It's amazing how the phandom wants for phan to be true but in the end would probably just dismiss the evidence if D&P were to ignore it or still deny everything. You're right, it seems like there would be a way to dismiss almost any outing. The only way I could see it being taken seriously is if the info came from a close friend after some kind of serious falling-out, but even then it could be explained as the person lying out of anger/bitterness.

It would have to happen indirectly. Like through a vlog, but not through a direct statement by someone in the vlog.
